The West Michigan Quilt Guild

The West Michigan Quilt Guild is a wonderfully active guild that has been in existence for over 30 years and still going strong.

This active group of almost 500 members gather to learn more about quilts, quilters and ways to promote quilting in the community.

Members range from people who have just been bitten by the quilting bug to nationally recognized quilters with published books and award winning quilts.

Regardless of each member’s level of expertise, style or techniques, they share a love of quilting. This group also has many smaller groups and other ways to participate such as Bees, Stitch-Ins, volunteer opportunities, quilting challenges and round robins.

To find out more, go to the West Michigan Quilt Guild website. It’s chock full of information!

    Good Afternoon,

The Women’s City Club of Grand Rapids is having a day trip to the Osceola Quilt Trail on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The trip will include a stop at McBain Windmill Farms, a farmer’s market, full lunch at the Marion United Methodist Church, and a guided tour of some of the best examples of “Barn Quilts”, as we discover the art of the barns and the tradition of painting quilts. Transportation is on a luxury, air conditioned motor coach. For this unique travel adventure, we are extending the member price of $60.00 to quilting guilds. Reservations can be made by calling the Women’s City Club of Grand Rapids at (616) 459-3321 or for more information, please call me at my office (616) 831-1840. Thank you for your consideration.
